Educated ELL students in a wonderful school. Teaching them to learn by reading from the Pearson Reading Street program.
Taught math through Everyday Math and prepared them for the STAR testing in April while incorporating GLAD strategies into my everyday plans.
Assessed students using Dibels and SRI as well as formal and informal unit and lesson assessments.
Prepared, scheduled and held parent-teacher conferences, SST’s, IEP’s and worked closely with school principal and staff.

Pleasant Valley Elementary Sept. 2010 – Feb. 2011

Full Time First Grade Teacher (long term sub)

Educated and managed twenty students using Open Court, Expressions Math, California Math, FOSS Science and GLAD strategies.
Collaborated and planned weekly with the first grade team to include: writing workshops, journal writing, spelling lists, leveled reading groups, phonic lessons, math, computer lab as well as weekly art and science/social study units.
Assessed students using Dibels and MAP Assessment as well as formal and informal unit and lesson assessments. Utilized Accelerated Reader and Aeries Report Card Program.

Set up entire classroom, organized and planned the first 3-weeks of this 2 grade class (while district was waiting for attendance). Instructed and managed twenty ELL students using Houghton Mifflin and Everyday Math. Collaborated and planned with grade level team. Assessed student’s reading level, utilizing “Read Naturally”.
